Wranglers assign Braden Birnie and Marko Sikic to Rapid City
Calgary’s AHL club sent the forwards to its ECHL affiliate and released four Rush signees from camp tryouts.
The Calgary Wranglers assigned forwards Braden Birnie and Marko Sikic to the Rapid City Rush, their ECHL affiliate, Rapid City announced Saturday. Both forwards have two-way AHL/ECHL contracts with Calgary.
Birnie returns to Rapid City after recording two goals and four assists in nine games for the Rush last season. He later played five AHL games with Abbotsford before signing with the Wranglers for 2026-27.
Sikic joined Calgary this summer after two professional seasons with Cincinnati. He had 11 goals and 13 assists in 54 games for the Cyclones last season.
The Wranglers also released four Rapid City ECHL signees from camp tryouts so they could return to the Rush: Seth Fyten, Eric Parker, Jake Ratzlaff and Shane Farkas.
