Winless Roadrunners Open First Road Trip Against Barracuda in San Jose
Tucson, 0-2-0-0 after losing both home openers to Colorado, plays San Jose on Friday and Saturday.

The Tucson Roadrunners (0-2-0-0) play their first road games of the season this weekend, visiting the San Jose Barracuda (1-1-0-0) on Friday and Saturday. Friday's puck drop is 7 p.m. MST, and Saturday's is 6 p.m. MST.
Tucson lost both of its home openers to the Colorado Eagles. The Roadrunners were shut out on Saturday, then scored three times on Sunday before falling 5-3.
San Jose split its opening series with the San Diego Gulls and is coming off a 5-4 overtime win on Sunday. The Tucson series covers the third and fourth games of the Barracuda's six-game homestand to start the season. It also marks the first two of eight meetings between the clubs this year.
The teams last met on March 1, 2026, in San Jose, where Tucson won 6-4. Captain Austin Poganski led the Roadrunners in scoring against San Jose last season with 10 points (two goals, eight assists). Cameron Hebig led them in goals against the Barracuda with six and finished with nine points.
Tucson did find some offence on Sunday. Rookie Vadim Moroz tied the game with his first professional goal in North America, and he previously played for Dinamo Minsk of the KHL. Forward Yegor Borikov and defenceman Gregor Biber also recorded their first AHL points that night, both assisting on Kevin Rooney's goal with 52 seconds left in the second period.
Both games will stream on AHLtv on FloHockey. Coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. MST Friday and 5:45 p.m. MST Saturday.
