Todd Crocker named Maple Leafs radio play-by-play voice
The longtime Marlies broadcaster succeeds Joe Bowen and will work alongside Jim Ralph on Toronto radio broadcasts.
Todd Crocker is moving from the Toronto Marlies booth to the Maple Leafs radio booth.
The Maple Leafs and radio partners Sportsnet and TSN announced Tuesday that Crocker will become the team's radio play-by-play voice. He succeeds Joe Bowen, who retired after calling Maple Leafs games for 44 seasons.
Crocker will work alongside colour commentator Jim Ralph, who is entering his 29th season in the role. Crocker brings nearly 20 seasons of play-by-play experience, including the past 13 with the Marlies and an earlier stint with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs.
He called the Marlies' Calder Cup championships in 2018 and 2026 and worked the AHL All-Star Classic in 2019 and 2023. MLSE chief business officer Phil King said Crocker's promotion reflects how the Marlies program develops professionals off the ice as well as players.
The Marlies will replace Crocker with a rotation. David Bowen will call most games at Coca-Cola Coliseum, while Ben Shulman and Matt Cullen will split the remainder.
