Tarasov makes first Red Wings start in Montreal
Daniil Tarasov takes the net on Saturday after making his Detroit debut in relief against Seattle.
Daniil Tarasov made his first start for the Detroit Red Wings against the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre on Saturday, Oct. 10. Detroit had identified him as its expected starter in the club's preview, and he took the net when the game began.
Tarasov had made his Detroit debut in relief the previous night, stopping eight of nine shots during a 6-3 loss to the Seattle Kraken. He joined the Red Wings on a one-year contract during the summer.
Detroit entered its first road game with a 1-3-0 record, playing on consecutive nights for the first time this season. Coach Todd McLellan said before the game that the team needed to support one another, maintain its structure and get strong goaltending.
