Slafkovský beats Nurse with a deke for goal against Sharks
The Canadiens forward put Montréal ahead 2-1 with his second goal of the season early in the second period.
Juraj Slafkovský slipped the puck past Darnell Nurse and finished against Alex Nedeljkovic to give the Montréal Canadiens a 2-1 lead over the San Jose Sharks at Bell Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The goal came at 1:49 of the second period. NHL.com described Slafkovský carrying the puck into the offensive zone, sending it between Nurse's skates and recovering it on his backhand before switching to his forehand for the finish.
It was Slafkovský's second goal of the season. He had also earned his fifth assist on Nick Suzuki's first-period goal. The NHL's official play-by-play credits Cole Caufield with the assist on Slafkovský's goal.
