Mason Shaw contributed a goal and two assists as the Iowa Wild recovered from three goals down to beat the Texas Stars 4-3 in a shootout at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Oct. 3.

Texas led 3-0 early in the third period after Mike Sgarbossa scored twice and Ellis Rickwood added a goal. Iowa responded through power-play goals from Tyler Pitlick and Riley Heidt, then Shaw tied the score with 1:16 remaining while goaltender Riley Mercer was on the bench for an extra attacker.

Neither team scored in overtime. Gerry Mayhew settled the shootout in its fourth round, and Mercer stopped Rickwood's attempt to complete Iowa's comeback. Mercer finished with 21 saves; Arno Tiefensee made 28 for Texas.
