Hayden Hodgson will serve a two-game suspension without pay for boarding Brandt Clarke, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced Friday. The Ottawa Senators forward received the ban for his hit on the Los Angeles Kings defenceman during Thursday’s game.

Officials gave Hodgson a boarding major and a game misconduct in the second period.

The league said the suspension will cost Hodgson $8,762.88 in salary. That money will go to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
