Senators announce Mike Fisher return for alumni celebration
The former Ottawa centre will join the ceremonial puck drop before Saturday’s home game against Utah.
The Ottawa Senators will welcome Mike Fisher back to Canadian Tire Centre on Saturday for an alumni celebration before their game against the Utah Mammoth. Fisher will take part in the ceremonial puck drop, the club announced in its Monday column.
Ottawa says it will be Fisher’s first official return to the arena since his retirement. The weekend will bring together members of the Senators’ 1997, 2007 and 2017 teams.
Dean McAmmond, Peter Schaefer and Wade Redden are also scheduled to attend. McAmmond and Schaefer played alongside Fisher on Ottawa’s 2007 team; Redden was part of the 1997 and 2007 clubs.
Several alumni will be in the region for a Battle of Ontario alumni game in Peterborough on Friday. The Senators said Craig Anderson will play goal and wear a microphone for that game.
