Sceptres sign Kirsten Simms through 2028-29
Toronto has agreed to a three-season contract with its eighth overall selection from the 2026 PWHL Draft.

Kirsten Simms has agreed to her first contract with the Toronto Sceptres. The club announced on Oct. 15 that its first-round draft pick will be under contract for three seasons, ending in 2028-29.
Toronto chose the forward eighth overall in June. She is the first player from that draft class to sign with the Sceptres.
General manager Gina Kingsbury said Simms would add creativity and offensive ability, with the length of the agreement giving the team time to develop alongside her. Simms said she was eager to meet her teammates and contribute to the club.
The signing brings Toronto to 16 contracted players from a group of 29 invited to training camp in November. Simms arrives from the University of Wisconsin, where she played for four seasons.
