Sceptres re-sign Sara Hjalmarsson through 2027-28
Toronto has 17 players under contract for next month’s training camp after securing the Swedish forward for two more seasons.

Sara Hjalmarsson is staying with the Toronto Sceptres on a two-year contract through the 2027-28 season, the PWHL club announced Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Toronto selected the Swedish forward in the fifth round of the 2025 PWHL Draft. She played in every one of the club's 30 regular-season games in 2025-26 and scored her first three PWHL goals over a five-game stretch after the Olympics.
Hjalmarsson's signing brings Toronto to 17 contracted players among the 29 expected at training camp next month. Nine of those under contract are forwards, and nine have deals extending beyond the coming season.
Before joining Toronto, Hjalmarsson captained Linköping HC for two seasons after her time at Providence College. She was Sweden's Player of the Year in 2024-25.
The Sceptres start the regular season in Ottawa on Dec. 6, then host PWHL Hamilton at Coca-Cola Coliseum on Dec. 8.
