Jake Sanderson skated individually Thursday morning but will miss the Ottawa Senators' game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Sportsnet reported. The teams meet Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. ET.

The defenceman's season opener ended after six shifts in Saturday's win over Toronto. An injury had also limited his participation in training camp and pre-season games before he resumed practising last Friday, according to Sportsnet.

Sanderson recorded 54 points in 67 appearances for Ottawa last season, scoring 14 goals and adding 40 assists. The Senators drafted him with the fifth selection in 2020.
