Sabres Set Hockey Fights Cancer Night for Nov. 6 vs. Blue Jackets

Buffalo and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center will host the annual game at KeyBank Center, with a young Sabres fan as guest of honour.

The Buffalo Sabres and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center will host Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Friday, Nov. 6, when Buffalo plays the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. ET at KeyBank Center.

The club's guest of honour, a young Sabres fan being treated at Roswell Park, will be featured in a pregame video and welcomed to centre ice for a ceremonial puck drop.

The game is part of an NHL-wide initiative to raise money and awareness for cancer research.

What fans can expect

  • Every fan will find a commemorative Hockey Fights Cancer scarf on their seat. It carries the Sabres and Roswell Park logos in lavender.
  • Placards will be on every seat and at concourse stations, with room to write the name of a loved one who has battled cancer. Fans will hold them up together during a moment in the game. They can also be printed at Sabres.com/HFC.
  • Commemorative hats, each signed by a surprise Sabres player, cost $40 in the arena or $50 online while supplies last. All proceeds go to Roswell Park.
  • The 50/50 raffle has a guaranteed jackpot of at least $100,000, with proceeds going to Roswell Park. Second-chance prizes include team-signed merchandise. Fans not at the game can buy tickets at Sabres.com/5050.
  • An online auction opens at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Sabres.com/Auctions. It features autographed items, sticks used in warmups and other memorabilia, and runs until 9 p.m. on Nov. 15. Proceeds benefit Roswell Park.
  • Blue, gold and lavender hair extensions will be available in the concourse, styled by HairDo.
