Søgaard set to face former Belleville team as Crunch host Senators
The Syracuse goaltender’s first matchup with his former club adds an angle to Belleville’s opening road game.

Mads Søgaard is set to face his former Belleville Senators team for the first time when the Syracuse Crunch host Belleville on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The goaltender spent six professional seasons in the Ottawa organization, including an extended spell with Belleville. His first game with Syracuse this season produced a 27-save shutout against the Laval Rocket, according to Belleville’s official game preview.
The Senators are playing their first road game of 2026-27 after a 3-2 shootout victory over Rochester. Saturday opens an eight-game season series between Belleville and Syracuse. The Senators went 3-5-0-0 against the Crunch last season and lost their final meeting 4-0.
Puck drop at Upstate Medical University Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with coverage on AHLTV on FloHockey. Belleville said its full lineup would be announced closer to game time.
