Rocket bring four-game winning streak to unbeaten Comets

Laval visits Utica on Saturday after a comeback win in Belleville, while the Comets have won their first three games.

The Laval Rocket and Utica Comets put their winning runs on the line Saturday, Oct. 17, when they meet in Utica at 6 p.m. ET. Laval has won four straight games, while Utica has opened the season with three victories.

Laval enters at 4-1-0-0 after a 5-4 overtime win in Belleville on Friday. The Rocket erased a 4-0 deficit, beginning their response with a second-period goal before scoring three times in the third to force overtime. Luke Mittelstadt then supplied the winner.

That comeback gives Laval a quick turnaround against a rested opponent. Utica last played Sunday, Oct. 11, when it beat Belleville 4-2 following a 2-1 home win over Rochester the previous night.

Lenni Hämeenaho scored twice on the power play in the Comets’ win at Belleville. Utica converted two of four power-play chances and killed three of four penalties to improve to 3-0-0-0.

Inside The Rink lists the Rocket and Comets as averaging 4.2 and 2.7 goals per game, respectively. Saturday’s game is available on AHLTV on FloHockey.
