Roadrunners Announce Camp Schedule, Four-Team Southwest Showdown
Tucson opens training camp Sept. 22 and finishes the week with an AHL preseason event featuring Henderson, Colorado and Texas.
The Tucson Roadrunners will open 2026 training camp with a captain's skate at Tucson Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 22, the team announced Wednesday.
The captain's skate is scheduled for 1:45 to 3:45 p.m. and will be limited to a small group of veterans. Full-team practices follow Wednesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tucson Arena. All three practices are closed to the public, with media availability afterward. Times are subject to change.
The week ends with the inaugural Southwest Showdown, a four-team AHL preseason event featuring Tucson, the Colorado Eagles, Henderson Silver Knights and Texas Stars.
Colorado plays Texas at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, before Tucson faces Henderson at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Henderson meets Colorado at 3 p.m. and the Roadrunners close the event against Texas at 7 p.m.
Tucson will also hold a free Fan Fest on Friday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tucson Arena. The Roadrunners' roster is scheduled to attend, along with select Eagles and Silver Knights players. The event will include autographs, public skating, games, music and food.
The Roadrunners, the AHL affiliate of the Utah Mammoth, open the regular season at home against Colorado on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. Both Tucson preseason games will stream on AHLTV on FloHockey and air on FOX Sports 1450 AM and the iHeartRadio app.
