Quinn Hutson Scores in Oilers Rookie Win Before Main Camp

Quinn Hutson finished Edmonton's rookie camp with a goal and an assist in a 6-1 victory over Calgary on Monday.

Hutson opened the scoring on the power play, cutting around the right faceoff dot and beating Flames goaltender Arsenii Sergeev short side. He later assisted on Isaac Howard's third-period power-play goal.

The performance followed a productive first full season with the Bakersfield Condors. Hutson scored 30 goals and 63 points in 67 games, leading all AHL rookies in goals and finishing among the league's top scorers.

Hutson also appeared in four games for Edmonton during 2025-26. He scored his first NHL goal Dec. 18 in a 3-1 win over the Boston Bruins.

He now moves into Oilers main camp, which opened with 56 players competing for roster spots. Matt Savoie is rehabilitating an offseason injury and is not expected to participate, creating additional opportunity among Edmonton's forwards.

Hutson's rookie-game production strengthens his case, but an opening-night role remains undecided as the Oilers prepare for their Sept. 29 opener against Vancouver.
