PWHL Sets First Independently Hosted All-Star Event for March 7

The PWHL is bringing its best players to Toronto on March 7, 2027, for the league's first independently hosted all-star event.

The format is a four-team, 3-on-3 round robin at Scotiabank Arena, with teams named PWHL Canada, PWHL USA, PWHL International, and PWHL Rookies. Players in their first PWHL season, regardless of age, are eligible for the Rookies team. Each roster will carry 10 players: six forwards, three defenders, and one goaltender.

After round-robin play, the second- and third-ranked teams meet in a semifinal. The winner faces the top team in the final.

Starters will be chosen through a combination of fan, player, and media voting. League hockey operations will select reserve players.

TSN will carry English-language coverage in Canada and Radio-Canada will provide French-language coverage. Scripps Sports will air the event on ION in the United States.

The league announced the event Thursday at a news conference at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, where an official countdown clock was unveiled. Starting September 25, the clock will be displayed at Union Station's Front Street Promenade, with more locations to be announced.

"The PWHL was built to feature the best players in the world, and now fans will see the highest level of skill in women's hockey showcased in a new and unique way," said PWHL executive vice-president of hockey operations Jayna Hefford.

The PWHL said it will announce ticketing, voting, roster-construction and gameplay details closer to the event.
