Predators Open Home Preseason Slate Against Lightning Tuesday
Nashville hosts Tampa Bay at 7 p.m. CT at Bridgestone Arena, two nights after a 2-1 loss in Tampa.
The Predators play their first home game of the preseason Tuesday night, hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning at Bridgestone Arena with puck drop set for 7 p.m. CT.
It is the second of four exhibition games for Nashville. The Predators will close their preseason schedule with a home-and-home set against the Carolina Hurricanes later this week.
Sunday's opener in Tampa ended 2-1, with Nashville dressing mostly rookies and prospects against a Lightning lineup stocked with NHL regulars. Brady Martin scored the Predators' only goal, and Juuse Saros played the full game and stopped 20 shots.
"I love the effort," head coach Andrew Brunette said afterward. "I thought the guys competed, played with some good detail. Didn't get a result, but a lot of really good things."
Monday's practice skewed toward the everyday NHL group, which points to a heavier lineup Tuesday. The Predators are expected to release their roster before the game.
Brunette isn't treating the short runway casually. "It's kind of a condensed camp, and urgency is at a premium here to be ready," he said Sunday.
Forward Vitali Pinchuk, injured on the first day of camp practice, is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
