Predators finish preseason with 6-0 home loss to Hurricanes
Andrew Brunette said Nashville lacked energy in its final exhibition game before the regular season.
The Nashville Predators ended their preseason with a 6-0 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday. Carolina scored three times in the first period, once in the second and twice in the third, according to the Predators' official game report. Nashville finished its exhibition schedule 1-3-0.
Asked what needed to improve before the regular season, Predators coach Andrew Brunette replied, “Pretty much everything.” He said Nashville lacked energy and effort. Defenceman Brady Skjei also said the team was unprepared at the start. Brunette said the performance made the remaining roster decisions harder because no candidate made a convincing final case for a spot.
Nashville must submit its 23-player roster by Monday afternoon. The Predators open the regular season at home against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, Oct. 1.
