Peterka and Borgen Set for TD Garden Debuts Against Flyers
Boston hosts Philadelphia at 7 p.m. Tuesday in its second preseason game, with David Pastrnak and a veteran-heavy group in the lineup.
David Pastrnak will be in the lineup Tuesday when the Boston Bruins host the Philadelphia Flyers at TD Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET in Boston's second of four preseason games.
Forward JJ Peterka and defenseman Will Borgen, both acquired during the summer, will make their TD Garden debuts. Peterka is expected to skate with Casey Mittelstadt and Pavel Zacha, a line coach Marco Sturm has kept together during camp. Borgen is slated to pair with Hampus Lindholm.
“I just want them to be themselves and try to adapt things we try to accomplish here as a hockey team, as a Boston Bruin,” Sturm said. “It might be different for JJ — it’s not the same game style that he played in Utah, which is different. We play heavier, harder. But I still want him to be creative as well.”
Pastrnak, Morgan Geekie and Elias Lindholm are among the Bruins veterans scheduled to play. Sturm said Boston's road back-to-back later in the preseason influenced the decision to give the older players a home game Tuesday.
The Bruins opened the preseason Sunday with a 3-2 shootout win over Washington. Jake Schmaltz and Charlie McAvoy scored in regulation, James Hagens had the only shootout goal and Michael DiPietro made 30 saves.
