Penguins cancel preseason game against Phantoms after arena issue

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton says a mechanical issue at its arena forced the cancellation of Friday’s AHL pre-season game.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins cancelled their Friday pre-season game against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms because of a mechanical issue at their arena, the AHL club announced Sept. 25.

The Penguins said ticket holders would receive more information from the club in the coming days.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has two pre-season games left, both on the road: against the Hershey Bears on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. and against Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7:05 p.m.
