Patrick Kane played his first regular-season game for the Chicago Blackhawks since 2023 against the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. He scored on a third-period breakaway as Chicago lost 5-2.
Kane, 37, returned to Chicago on a two-year, $16 million contract signed July 23. He spent his first 16 NHL seasons with the Blackhawks and helped them win the Stanley Cup in 2010, 2013 and 2015. Chicago traded him to the New York Rangers on Feb. 28, 2023; he spent the past three seasons with the Detroit Red Wings.
