Ontario Reign Add 16 Players After Kings Roster Cut
Los Angeles loaned six players to its AHL affiliate and released 10 others from tryouts to report to Ontario.
The Ontario Reign are set to add 16 players after the Los Angeles Kings reduced their training-camp roster by 21 on Monday. The Kings now have 42 players remaining in camp.
Los Angeles loaned forwards Vojtěch Čihař, Kaleb Lawrence and Grant Slukynsky, defenseman Henry Brzustewicz, and goaltenders Carter George and Hampton Slukynsky to its AHL affiliate.
The Kings also released 10 players from professional or amateur tryouts who will report to Ontario: forwards Jacob Doty, Brendan Gorman, Jack Hughes, Kenta Isogai and Ryan O’Hara; defensemen Michael Mastrodomenico, Nate Corbet, Jack Millar and Cameron Supryka; and goaltender Owen Flores.
Five other players were returned to their junior clubs: forwards Jan Chovan to Sudbury, Adam Goljer to Kingston and Jimmy Lombardi to Flint in the OHL; defenseman Giorgos Pantelas to Penticton in the WHL; and defenseman Lucas Ambrosio to Erie in the OHL.
The roster reduction came one day before the Reign were scheduled to open AHL training camp, according to the Kings’ camp notes.
