Zach Hyman will be unavailable for roughly two weeks, according to Oilers broadcaster Jack Michaels. The Edmonton winger has an undisclosed injury, Michaels reported on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Michaels traced the injury to Edmonton's last exhibition game, against Calgary. Sportsnet reported that Hyman stayed behind when the Oilers left for Thursday's visit to the Vancouver Canucks.

On Sept. 29, Hyman logged 20:33 in Edmonton's season opener. The Oilers lost 6-5 in overtime to Vancouver; Hyman recorded no points, three shots and two hits.

The 34-year-old finished 2025-26 with 31 goals and 21 assists across 58 regular-season appearances.
