Oilers place Matt Tomkins on waivers for Bakersfield assignment

Edmonton said the goaltender’s move to the Condors depends on clearing waivers.

The Edmonton Oilers placed goaltender Matt Tomkins on waivers Sunday for the purpose of assigning him to their AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors, the club announced. The assignment depends on Tomkins clearing waivers.

The Oilers also loaned defenceman Damien Carfagna to Bakersfield, according to the same club announcement.
