NHL Names DoorDash Its Official Delivery Partner
Multiyear North American deal starts immediately and brings Wednesday and Saturday game night promotions, Dasherboard branding and a Prime Video presenting sponsorship in Canada.
The NHL has a new food delivery partner. The League and DoorDash announced a multiyear North American agreement Thursday that makes DoorDash the Official On-Demand Delivery and Pick Up Partner of the NHL in both Canada and the United States. The exclusive deal begins immediately and is DoorDash's first with the NHL.
The agreement includes several prominent marketing placements. DoorDash gets use of League marks, broadcast-visible branding through Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards during nationally televised games, integration at tentpole events including the Discover NHL Winter Classic and the Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series, and a presence through the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
In Canada, DoorDash becomes the presenting sponsor of all Wednesday night national regular-season games and Stanley Cup Playoff games carried on Prime Video. The company's promotional calendar starts with a DoorDash Puck Drop offer on Sept. 29, 2026, the opening day of the 2026-27 season, followed by game night deals every Wednesday and Saturday through the regular season. DoorDash will also activate on site at the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic in Winnipeg on Oct. 25, 2026.
"NHL fans are fiercely loyal and passionate and happen to be some of the most active on-demand delivery consumers," said Chris Falkiner, the NHL's Group Vice President of Business Development.
Gina Igwe, DoorDash's Vice President of Brand, Creative, and Consumer Marketing, framed the deal around the Canadian hockey night habit. "In Canada, hockey night is more than a game, it's a family ritual and a way fandom gets passed from one generation to the next," she said.
DoorDash says a new NHL creative platform is coming across North America, along with additional promotions and sweepstakes, including a trigger promotion tied to on-ice moments.
