Montréal-Hamilton to be first women’s game on Hockey Night in Canada
CBC will show eight primetime PWHL games, starting with the Victoire’s Dec. 5 home date against expansion Hamilton.
The Montréal Victoire will host PWHL Hamilton at Place Bell on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. ET in the first women’s hockey game featured on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada, the PWHL announced Monday. The game is part of the league’s six-game opening weekend, when all 12 clubs will play.
CBC will carry eight primetime PWHL games under the Hockey Night in Canada banner, each involving a Canadian club. The broadcasts will include pre- and post-game analysis. Radio-Canada also has exclusive Canadian rights to live French-language radio coverage of every Victoire game.
The 2026-27 PWHL season begins earlier that Saturday, when the Vancouver Goldeneyes host the Seattle Torrent at Pacific Coliseum at 3 p.m. ET. At 7 p.m. ET, PWHL San Jose hosts the Minnesota Frost at SAP Center in the debut of ION’s Saturday Game of the Week in the United States.
The league said the complete schedule and further national broadcast details will be released Friday, Oct. 2.
