McKenna Gets First Preseason Point as Leafs Beat Senators 6-1

Gavin McKenna recorded his first preseason point Wednesday night, taking the secondary assist on John Tavares’ first-period goal as the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Ottawa Senators 6-1 at Scotiabank Arena.

Tim Stützle opened the scoring for Ottawa before Jake McCabe tied the game. Jack Roslovic, Zack MacEwen, Morgan Rielly and Auston Matthews added goals for Toronto. Roslovic, Tavares and Matthews finished with three points each.

The Maple Leafs also won the other half of their split-squad doubleheader, beating the Senators 4-2 in Ottawa. McKenna was the first overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
