

Marlies Bounce Back With 5-3 Win Over Hamilton
Toronto built a 5-0 lead on Saturday, a day after a 3-1 loss in Rochester, with Brendan Brisson scoring twice.


The Toronto Marlies beat the Hamilton Hammers 5-3 at Coca-Cola Coliseum on Saturday, Oct. 3, bouncing back from a 3-1 loss in Rochester the night before.
Toronto built a 5-0 lead before Hamilton scored three times. The Marlies outshot the Hammers 11-7 in the third period and 35-27 overall. The teams combined for 13 minor penalties.
Brendan Brisson had two goals and an assist, while Logan Shaw added a goal and two assists. Brisson scored both of his goals in the first period, including the opener on the power play at 11:22. Shaw made it 5-0 just 53 seconds into the second. Vinni Lettieri assisted on Shaw's goal.
Pierre Engvall scored Hamilton's first goal at 1:45 of the second period. The Hammers scored twice more, but could not erase Toronto's lead.
