What's newBrad Marchand made his season debut against Anaheim after recovering from offseason surgery.

Brad Marchand made his season debut for the Florida Panthers against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, Oct. 4, returning ahead of the club’s initial October rehabilitation plan. Florida’s official announcement and the NHL’s updated injury report confirmed his return.

The winger underwent surgery during the offseason after a lower-body injury limited his 2025-26 campaign. Florida had initially expected his rehabilitation to keep him out through October, according to Sportsnet. His comeback would put him ahead of that schedule.

Marchand recorded 54 points in 52 appearances last season, with 27 goals and 27 assists.

Florida gets him back while captain Aleksander Barkov is unavailable. Barkov was recently placed on long-term injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

“It should be a great boost with Barkov out of the lineup,” coach Paul Maurice said in Florida’s announcement.
