Mammoth sharpen game plan for Avalanche in home preseason finale
Utah returns to the Delta Center and will put more emphasis on the opponent before the regular season.
The Utah Mammoth return to the Delta Center on Saturday to finish their preseason against the Colorado Avalanche, their first game in the building since early May. With no morning skate before the early game, Utah made its preparations at Friday's practice.
Head coach André Tourigny said the Mammoth will study Colorado more closely than they have studied any opponent this preseason. He wants the team to practise making adjustments to an opponent before the regular season begins.
Tourigny pointed to Colorado's speed through the neutral zone and said Utah must protect the middle of the ice. He also stressed that the Mammoth's own execution remains the priority.
Utah opens its regular season at home against the Chicago Blackhawks.
