Luostarinen returns to practice after puck strike against Wild
The Panthers forward skated Sunday after leaving the third period of Saturday’s home opener.
Eetu Luostarinen took part in Florida Panthers practice on Sunday, Oct. 11, after a puck strike forced him out of the previous night's game against Minnesota.
Luostarinen left during the third period of the 4-1 loss to the Wild and did not return. The Panthers reported that he was skating at Baptist Health IcePlex the following day.
Coach Paul Maurice said Luostarinen was doing well the next day. He described the forward's willingness to work near the net and block shots on the penalty kill as roles that regularly expose him to pucks.
Through Florida's first five games, Luostarinen has scored twice and averaged 15:29 of ice time. His five blocked shots are the most among Panthers forwards.
Florida travels to Buffalo for a Monday game before facing Columbus on Tuesday.
