Liam Öhgren Scores Twice in Canucks Camp Scrimmage
The Vancouver winger beat Kevin Lankinen on consecutive shots during Saturday’s 30-minute scrimmage in Penticton.
Liam Öhgren scored twice against Kevin Lankinen early in the Vancouver Canucks’ 30-minute training-camp scrimmage Saturday in Penticton, British Columbia. One of the winger’s shots went in off the crossbar, according to Sportsnet’s rinkside report.
Öhgren skated with centre Marco Rossi and winger Brock Boeser, a line that played together late last season. The Whites beat the Blues 4-3 on Boeser’s shootout goal.
“I know this was just a scrimmage, but you want to show everyone around that you belong,” Öhgren told Sportsnet after the session.
Vancouver acquired Öhgren, Rossi and defenceman Zeev Buium from Minnesota in the December 2025 Quinn Hughes trade. The 22-year-old Öhgren scored eight goals and 18 points in 51 games for the Canucks last season, Sportsnet reported. The Canucks had previously described Rossi’s chemistry with Öhgren and Boeser late last season.
Saturday’s two goals came in an intrasquad scrimmage; they do not count toward regular-season totals.
