Landeskog encouraged by knee health heading into another season
The Avalanche captain told Sportsnet that his knee handled the demands of his first full season back.
Gabriel Landeskog says the way his knee held up through his first full season back has left him looking forward to another year with the Colorado Avalanche.
In an interview published by Sportsnet on Saturday, Oct. 10, the Avalanche captain described gradually adjusting to the demands of regular skating after a lengthy rehabilitation. His aim entering the comeback season was to compete and recover his feel for the game, rather than meet a fixed set of expectations.
Landeskog said the first few months were about adapting his knee to frequent use. He now feels encouraged by its condition and appreciates being able to prepare for another season.
He also said Colorado needed to turn its playoff disappointment into motivation. Rather than point to excuses, he said the team had failed to produce its best hockey when it mattered most.
