Klepov in line for Ducks NHL debut against Oilers
The 15th overall pick was on Anaheim's third line at morning skate after sitting out the first two games of the season.
Nikita Klepov could make his NHL debut for the Anaheim Ducks against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Sportsnet reported that the winger skated on Anaheim's third line in the morning after sitting out the team's first two games. Faceoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET, or 8 p.m. MT.
Anaheim selected Klepov 15th overall in the 2026 draft and signed him to a three-year entry-level contract in July. He is 18, with a June 27, 2008 birth date listed by the NHL.
Klepov scored 37 goals and added 60 assists in 67 games for the Saginaw Spirit in 2025-26, leading the OHL in points and winning its rookie of the year award.
Sportsnet reported that Klepov changed his plans to attend Michigan State after signing with Anaheim. The outlet also noted that he can play nine NHL games without using the first season of his entry-level contract.
