Kings visit Sharks in first divisional game of 2026-27

The Los Angeles Kings visit the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Saturday, Oct. 3, in their first divisional matchup of the 2026-27 season. Puck drop is 7 p.m. Pacific.
Los Angeles opened its season with an 8-4 loss at Colorado on Wednesday. Artemi Panarin scored for the Kings in the opener. The Kings' game preview credits him with 23 career points against San Jose, including 13 goals — his highest goal total against a Western Conference opponent.
San Jose began its season with a 4-3 overtime victory over Florida on Thursday. Will Smith scored twice and added an assist in that win.
Smith, the fourth overall selection in the 2023 NHL Draft, finished second on the Sharks last season with 24 goals and 59 points. Saturday's meeting gives him a chance to build on his three-point opening night against a division rival.
