The LA Kings Hall of Fame finally has a physical home. Before their home opener against Florida, the Kings unveiled a permanent display on the 100 Level at Crypto.com Arena, on the main concourse next to the Team LA store.

The Hall itself is not new, but it has gone largely unseen at games. Every player whose number the Kings retire is automatically inducted, and Butch Goring and longtime trainer Pete Demers have been inducted as well. Eleven people are currently members: Rob Blake, Dustin Brown, Peter Demers, Marcel Dionne, Wayne Gretzky, Butch Goring, Anze Kopitar, Bob Miller, Luc Robitaille, Dave Taylor and Rogie Vachon. Kopitar's number will be retired in February.

Luc Robitaille, Bob Miller, Dave Taylor and Demers attended the pregame ceremony. Alumni and broadcasters Jim Fox, Daryl Evans and Nick Nickson were there, along with Alec Martinez, Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene, representing the Cup-winning teams, and Bernie Nicholls.

The Hall of Fame section has a plaque for each inductee. Beside it is a historical exhibit that runs roughly in chronological order, from the franchise's origins to the present. It includes jerseys, gloves, helmets, pads, game sheets, bobbleheads and game-used gear from the 2012 and 2014 Stanley Cup championships, the Miracle on Manchester and the Frenzy on Figueroa. Banners showing each of the club's primary logos hang above it.

The Hall is also set to grow. According to the team's release, a selection committee will be announced at a later date, with a chairman and members drawn from former players, executives, broadcasters, employees and media who have covered the team annually. It will set criteria and meet each year to consider new inductees. Factors will include career statistics, playoff performance, longevity, legacy and off-ice contributions, and team and league awards.

That opens the Hall to players without retired numbers, and to people who helped the organization without playing for it.
