Kings plan 11 forwards against Bruins as Zacha’s status remains unclear
Los Angeles expects to use seven defencemen Saturday; Boston is awaiting clarity on Pavel Zacha after Friday’s game in Anaheim.
The Los Angeles Kings plan to dress 11 forwards and seven defencemen when they host the Boston Bruins at Crypto.com Arena on Saturday, Oct. 17, according to the NHL’s game preview. The game begins at 6 p.m. PT, or 9 p.m. ET.
Los Angeles held an optional morning skate, leaving its forward combinations uncertain. The NHL preview said the Kings had tried Alex Laferriere at first-line centre and Quinton Byfield on the second line in Thursday’s practice.
Boston is also waiting on Pavel Zacha’s availability. He left Friday’s 4-2 win at Anaheim after a hit from Drew Helleson with 9:06 remaining in the third period and did not return, according to the NHL.
Jeremy Swayman is expected to start for Boston after Michael DiPietro made 26 saves against the Ducks.
Mats Zuccarello will miss his third consecutive game for Los Angeles with an undisclosed injury. He is expected to travel with the Kings on the five-game road trip that begins Tuesday in Washington.
