Kaprizov helps Wild close road trip with 3-1 win over Mammoth
Minnesota converted two power plays and Jesper Wallstedt stopped 26 shots in Utah.
Minnesota ended its five-game road trip by beating Utah 3-1 at Delta Center on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Kirill Kaprizov contributed a goal and an assist as the Wild earned their third consecutive victory.
Quinn Hughes assisted on both Minnesota power-play goals. The first came from Joel Eriksson Ek at 15:04 of the second period; Kaprizov then scored 48 seconds into the third after receiving a pass from Matt Boldy.
An earlier Minnesota celebration did not count. Ryan Hartman put the puck in at 7:21 of the second, but a video review ruled that he had kicked it across the line.
Maxim Shabanov increased the advantage to three goals at 11:44 of the third period. Logan Cooley provided Utah’s only reply with 1:21 remaining, with Nick Schmaltz and Mikhail Sergachev credited with assists.
Jesper Wallstedt finished with 26 saves for the Wild. Karel Vejmelka was in net for the Mammoth.
