Jets sign Cole Perfetti to five-year extension
Winnipeg locks up forward through 2031 with $30 million deal, avoiding arbitration hearing.
The Winnipeg Jets signed Cole Perfetti to a five-year contract extension worth $30 million on Tuesday, according to ctvnews.ca. The deal carries a $6 million average annual value and keeps the 24-year-old forward under team control through the 2030-31 season.
Perfetti had filed for salary arbitration on Sunday, one of 15 players to do so before the league deadline, sportsnet.ca reported. The extension eliminates the need for a hearing and removes any uncertainty about his immediate future in Winnipeg.
The Whitby, Ontario native scored 12 goals and added 20 assists for 32 points in 68 games last season. He posted a career-high 50 points in 2024-25, according to sportsnet.ca. Perfetti was coming off a two-year bridge deal that paid him $3.25 million per season.
Winnipeg selected Perfetti 10th overall in the 2020 NHL Draft. He has 75 points in 140 career regular-season games with the Jets, per nhl.com. The new contract represents a significant raise and long-term commitment from the organization to a player who has shown steady offensive production despite fluctuating ice time over his first few seasons.
