Jets close preseason in Denver against the Avalanche
Winnipeg wraps up its exhibition schedule Friday night after spending Thursday on special teams for the first time this camp.
The Winnipeg Jets play their final preseason game Friday night in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche, with puck drop set for 7 p.m. CT.
The game will be available on nhl.com/jets and on radio via 680 CJOB and Power 97.
The Jets spent Thursday's session on special teams, the first time they had worked on the power play and penalty kill this training camp. Defenceman Josh Morrissey said the personnel on the ice only goes so far.
"For sure. You look around the league and it doesn't always mean success just based on the pieces that are out there. You can look at last season and there's some teams maybe in the top or bottom that are surprises as to what you see on paper. Paper doesn't matter," Morrissey said.
"What matters is all the guys being on the same page, having a great plan and executing. Whether that's on the power play or the PK. I'm not going to give away a lot of the secrets, but I like some of the changes we've made."
Winnipeg is scheduled for a morning skate at the Hockey For All Centre at 10:30 a.m. CT. The lineup for Friday's game had not been announced.
