Jets claim goaltender Clay Stevenson off waivers from Capitals

Winnipeg adds a goalie who spent most of four seasons in Washington’s system with the Hershey Bears.

The Winnipeg Jets claimed goaltender Clay Stevenson off waivers from the Washington Capitals, the American Hockey League announced Monday.

Stevenson played 109 regular-season games for Washington’s AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, over four seasons. He had a 63-31-9 record, a 2.50 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage and nine shutouts. The AHL lists him among Hershey’s 2024 Calder Cup champions.

In five NHL appearances for the Capitals, Stevenson went 3-2-0 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage, according to the league.
