The NHL and Fanatics unveiled new Winnipeg Jets and Montréal Canadiens uniforms for the Heritage Classic on Oct. 25 at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
Cole Caufield, Jake Evans, Nick Suzuki and Phillip Danault previewed Montréal’s sweaters in a video accompanying the reveal. Suzuki said he had long wanted to play outdoors and liked how the team would look in the new uniforms. Caufield said he was excited for his first outdoor game.
Winnipeg’s white sweater takes its inspiration from the franchise’s 1980s and 1990s uniforms. Felt is used for the crest and back numbers, with chain stitching on the crest. A jet graphic appears along the hem.
Montréal combines red and blue with an off-white shade. Its redesigned CH crest uses felt and running stitches. The back collar includes “Les Habitants” for the first time, while a fleur-de-lis appears on the loop label.
Fanatics developed the designs with input from the clubs and the league. The jerseys went on sale through league, team and Fanatics stores on Oct. 7, with a wider retail release scheduled for Oct. 8.
This will be Winnipeg’s third outdoor NHL game and Montréal’s fifth. The league said the Canadiens have a 2-2-0 record in outdoor regular-season games.
