Jesper Bratt is closing in on another spot in the Devils' record book.

Bratt assisted on Luke Evangelista's power-play goal Tuesday night, giving him 520 career points and tying Kirk Muller for fourth-most in franchise history. It was also assist No. 348 of his career, which pulls him even with Travis Zajac for fifth-most in team history.

His next point moves him alone into fourth. His next assist moves him alone into fifth.

Travis Zajac sits third in points at 550. On the assists list, the names ahead of him are John MacLean at 354, Scott Gomez at 361 and Scott Niedermayer at 364.

Bratt is 28 and just starting his 10th NHL season. He came into the organization as a sixth-round pick in 2016, and he is climbing these lists with plenty of hockey left in front of him.

The milestone was one of the notes in NHL.com's opening-week "10 Takeaways" column, written after the Devils' first three games of the season.
