Mason Shaw will captain the Iowa Wild in 2026-27, the AHL club announced Wednesday.

Shaw returns to Iowa after two seasons with the Manitoba Moose. He was Manitoba’s captain last season and led the team with 44 points and 29 assists in 71 games, scoring 15 goals.

Iowa selected four alternate captains, dividing their duties between home and away games. Dylan Gambrell and Gerry Mayhew will wear the A at home; Matt Kiersted and Tyler Pitlick will take those roles on the road.

Shaw previously played for Iowa from 2017 to 2024. The Minnesota Wild selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft.
