Hyry Scores 16 Seconds In as Stars Beat Blues
The Dallas forward opened a 2-1 preseason win in St. Louis and led the Stars with six shots.
Arttu Hyry scored 16 seconds into the Dallas Stars' 2-1 preseason win at the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, finishing a pass from Cameron Hughes. The 25-year-old forward played 18:51, led Dallas with six shots and won 11 of 17 faceoffs, according to the Stars' report.
Hyry signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent from Finland in 2024. He recorded 49 points in 67 AHL games in his first season. Last season, he had 19 points in 27 games with Texas and five points in 20 NHL games with Dallas. Stars coach Glen Gulutzan praised his two-way play and consistency, while Hyry said he would focus on his work regardless of his role.
Jack Becker scored Dallas' other goal. Remi Poirier stopped 11 of 12 shots, and Brandon Halverson stopped all 12 he faced in the third period. Dallas outshot St. Louis 28-24.
