Hurricanes Host Panthers in Only Lenovo Center Preseason Game
Carolina will use a youth-forward lineup in Tuesday’s 7 p.m. ET rematch with Florida in Raleigh.
The Carolina Hurricanes play their only preseason game at Lenovo Center on Tuesday, hosting the Florida Panthers at 7 p.m. ET. It will be Carolina's first game on home ice since winning the Stanley Cup Final.
Carolina plans to dress a youth-forward lineup under the new collective bargaining agreement's exhibition rules. Teams must dress at least eight players who meet the agreement's veteran criteria, which include NHL or combined NHL/AHL experience and recent high draft selections.
The Hurricanes are expected to use a lineup similar to the group that lost 6-3 in Florida on Sunday. Defenseman P.O. Joseph, who signed a one-year contract this month, and 2025 seventh-round pick Filip Ekberg are the two skaters slated to make their first preseason appearances with Carolina.
Brandon Bussi and Cayden Primeau are listed as Carolina's goaltending options. Seth Jarvis continues to practice in a no-contact jersey while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
After Tuesday, the Hurricanes face Nashville on Thursday at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro.
