Griffins assign five players to Toledo Walleye

Grand Rapids sends three forwards, a defenceman and a goaltender to its ECHL affiliate ahead of two AHL preseason games.

The Grand Rapids Griffins assigned five players to their ECHL affiliate, the Toledo Walleye, on Friday, the AHL club announced.

Forwards Tag Bertuzzi, Kaden Bohlsen and Nolan Moyle, defenceman Marcus Crawford and goaltender Jonathan Lemieux were included in the move.

The transaction comes before Grand Rapids plays Cleveland in two preseason games at the Huntington Center in Toledo on Saturday and Sunday.
