Golden Knights use Sharks finale to test roster spots

Vegas has one exhibition game left to evaluate players competing for NHL jobs and try line combinations before Tuesday’s opener.

The Vegas Golden Knights will use Saturday's preseason finale against the San Jose Sharks for one last look at players competing for opening-night roster spots. The game starts at 7 p.m. Pacific time at T-Mobile Arena.

Head coach Ryan Craig plans to test line combinations and build chemistry, according to the club's morning-skate report. Craig also said exhibition games let the team work through game situations before the regular season.

Vegas is 3-0 in preseason play, including a 2-1 shootout win over San Jose on Tuesday. The Golden Knights open the regular season at home against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.
