Golden Knights Trim Camp Roster to 51 Players
Vegas assigned 12 players to AHL Henderson and returned four more to junior on Monday.
The Golden Knights cut 16 players from training camp on Monday, general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced, leaving 51 in the group.
Twelve were assigned to Henderson for the start of Silver Knights training camp: Jordan Gustafson, Brandon Hickey, Lucas Johansen, Jett Jones, Samuel Mayer, Riley McKay, Pavel Moysevich, Bronson Ride, Shane Smith, Sloan Stanick, Trent Swick and Alex Tracy.
Four more returned to their junior clubs for the start of the season: Dylan Allie, Matthew Minchak, Conor Walton and Vann Williamson.
That leaves 29 forwards, 17 defensemen and four goaltenders in Vegas. The forward group includes Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner, Mark Stone, Tomas Hertl, William Karlsson and Ivan Barbashev. On the blue line, Shea Theodore, Noah Hanifin, Brayden McNabb, Jeremy Lauzon and Rasmus Andersson are all still in camp. The goalies remaining are Adin Hill, Carter Hart, Carl Lindbom and Cameron Whitehead.
Vegas practiced Monday at City National Arena in two groups, at 10 a.m. and noon PT.
The next preseason game is Tuesday in San Jose against the Sharks at 7 p.m. PT. The Golden Knights then host Utah on Thursday and the Sharks again on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena.
This is the franchise's 10th season.
